Committed to being a Safe, Responsible and Contributing Operator and Neighbor.

As part of the region's long history of mining, we will continue to create long-term community benefits through our operations.

New Elk Mine is a steelmaking coal mine near Trinidad in Las Animas County, Colorado. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Allegiance Coal, we’re committed to the responsible mining of coal required for steel production.

We are building on the region’s long history of mining and are currently hiring for a number of positions. Visit our Careers page for details.
